The Phoenix Flight Simulator comes with a USB interface so you can plug your radio transmitter in to your computer and get busy practicing. The software comes with a JR Adapter as standard so any JR Radio transmitter owners do not need to purchase an additional adapter. We have options for Futaba, E Sky, Sanwa and HiTec Radio transmitters (please see related products at the bottom of this page).

Where to start with this product? The Phoenix RC Simulator delivers what must be some of the most jaw droppingly awesome graphics known to RC Helicopter mankind.

The backgrounds are breath taking and the handling of any of the 50 plus out the box aircraft are so realistic they are frightening.

I think the most unbelievable thing about this simulator is not the graphics, not the dynamics or physics or even the lower than most system requirements but it’s the price that is the single most unbelievable fact about the Phoenix Simulator. At £79.95 no other flight Sim can offer this level of detail and degree of realism.

We have mentioned time and time again throughout our website how important it is to invest in a flight Sim. This is not only relevant to the fledglings amongst us but also for the more developed Pilot wanting to move towards 3D acrobatics. The convenience and realism of the flight Simulator allows you to pick up your controller and practice irrespective of weather conditions, amount of light, availability at your club…. The list goes on and on.

Each and every time you make an error flying your Helicopter there’s a very good chance it will end up costing you money in parts. This could be £5.00 or £10.00 maybe £50.00 or more. The flight simulator doesn’t charge you for crashing. Your chosen flight simulator can soon pay for itself many times over.

Here are a few reasons why the Phoenix Simulator is so highly regarded:-

A word on Aircraft
PhoenixRC includes over 50 model flying craft out of the box, each with its own unique physics implementation and realistic flying characteristics.

From 3D airplanes and helicopters to intricate scale aircraft, there is something for all types of flyer, from absolute beginner to seasoned veteran.

Also featured are several unique and unusual aircraft, such as autogyros, tiltrotors and amphibious models, providing a unique and exciting flying experience.

Each aircraft has extensive customisation and modification options, giving you the ability to tune it to your specifications, or change the model's flying style completely.

Powerful and detailed, our customisation system is also intuitive and easy-to-master thanks to our unique custom user-interface - designed solely for the PhoenixRC simulator.

All of our models have been reproduced with incredible accuracy by our dedicated in-house team of artists and modelers, and all sport intricate details such as antennae, interiors, realistic rotor-heads and complete control-surface motion.

New to PhoenixRC is our exciting night-flying mode: Take up a powerful 3D helicopter or aircraft equipped with full night-lighting schemes and realistic glowing effects.

A Word on Dynamics
Custom-built from the ground up, PhoenixRC boasts one of the most stable, detailed physics implementations of any model flight simulator.

Developed and approved by former British Champions, industry professionals and 3D master flyers for maximum performance, accuracy and realism - straight from the box.

From accurate flight curve and inertia modelling, advanced effects such as torque dynamics and realistic undercarriage/ground interaction, PhoenixRC has everything you need to get the most out of a simulator.

Realistic autorotation and airfoil modelling combine with accurate wind, turbulence and thermals to produce a product which will save you a great deal of both time and money spent learning to fly a real model aircraft.

PhoenixRC also features an incredibly realistic water modelling system: aircraft equipped with floats will interact accurately with water, rolling with surface effects and spreading wakes and spray as they accelerate - whilst non-floating craft will realistically splash and sink.

Based upon a powerful, flexible yet easy-to-master customisation system, PhoenixRC allows you to modify any aircraft to your exact specifications, or to try out new modifications and tuning schemes before altering a real aircraft.

PhoenixRC also introduces a revolutionary new modification system: in-flight tuning. Almost any parameter can be selected for in-flight tuning, allowing you to dynamically alter the flying characteristics as you fly - enabling you to get the right feel faster and easier than ever before.

We have also introduced a new innovation into our flight recorder/playback system: for the first time, instantly "shuttle" back and forth through your flight sequences with your mouse - giving you unprecendented control.

A Word on Environments
Each of our sceneries is created from original source material taken expressly for PhoenixRC. We have gone to great lengths to find interesting and exciting flying sites in which you can fly - many not available to real-life flyers.

Unlike other simulators currently on the market, our environments allow complete, seamless 360°x180° coverage - including the very top and bottom - with no distorted, blank or fake areas, and no photographer shadows.

Each scenery is a pleasure to fly on: from busy airfields amongst departing aircraft to beautifully clear grass fields, our environment selection has something for everyone, and for all types of flying experience.

We are also proud to introduce our exciting water sceneries, complete with fantastic water vistas and realistic physics to provide a unique and enjoyable flying experience.

The sceneries are not just images, however. All backdrops have detailed collision information built into them, bringing them out of the two-dimensional and into full interactivity.

Your aircraft will realistically bounce and roll over obstacles and rough grass and into walls, trees, floor and ceilings, and create splashes, sprays and wakes in water.

Although we think you'll never want for an extra scenery to fly on, the PhoenixRC team intends to continue producing more high-detail environments after release for free download from www.phoenix-sim.com

A word on Visuals

Ok, if there was only one piece of advice we could give it would be to invest in a Flight Simulator. This is especially relevant to those of you that are new to flying.

One thing is guaranteed and that’s despite all your efforts at some point you will crash your Heli. Hate to have to state this but it’s a fact and you might as well prepare yourself for it. The amount of times you do hit the deck and the amount of damage you do will basically come down to how much practice your prepared to invest.

To our knowledge the only effective way to truly practice without actually taking a real RC heli out and flying it, is to use a flight simulator.

You install the Flight Sim on your PC or laptop and by using your Radio controller you can realistically replicate flying and controlling the real thing. Even weather conditions are replicated such as wind and thermal activity.

The majority of hobbies now days require a decent amount of cash to get started up and RC Helis are no different. So with that in mind we appreciate that another £150.00 on a flight sim sounds like a saving to be had and maybe an “I don’t need one right now I will buy one later” type deal. I can safely say that the money you invest in a decent flight simulator will be returned to you thrice fold in money saved on parts moving forward.

You can crash the models on a flight simulator a thousand times and it will never cost you a penny (the idea of course is not to crash them and treat them as if they are real).

One of the great things about this particular simulator is the built in flying lessons. You have a graphical and guide as well as a spoken instructor led training system that will take you from the very beginning and beyond in to some serious trick 3D mayhem.

Not only is it the cheapest way to learn to fly but it’s also probably the most convenient. You can pick up the Sim at any time and don’t need to hang about for a slot at a club or good weather etc…

Please remember that you need to use your radio transmitter for use with this simulator. The Phoenix simulator ships with an adapter for use with JR transmitters as standard but we also sell adapters for Futaba, Sanwa, E Flight and HiTec radios as well. You can find them under related products for this item.

We would seriously encourage anybody wanting to take this hobby up to start here and buy yourself a Simulator. You could of course look to purchase one of our indoor type Helicopters as an alternative but all said and done we still think your better with the Sim!!

Firstly very fast dispatch, it was with me the next day. Now the product is superb, only problem is I'm having a hellish (excuse pun) time getting the CCPM sorted on the Spektrum DX6i, it's not the programe but my transmitter thats causing problems. don't get me wrong it works fine, but if I add throttle, I also get elevator added or roll one way, throttle down etc etc. totally confusing for a woman ;) I will get it sorted somehow as I said product is superb, can fly aircraft fine with it.
