Minimum requirements:
• PC Pentium 4 1200 MHz
• 256 MB RAM
• 1 GB available hard disk
• DirectX 8.1-capable 3D hardware accelerated video card with at least 32 MB video ram - AGP2x or better. Shared RAM and 3D software emulation is not supported.
• CD drive
• USB port
• R/C transmitter with student or DSC socket of at least 4 channels, PPM mode. Most PCM radios can be switched to PPM mode. PCM transmitters without PPM support are not supported.
• Operating system Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000, XP and Vista, Reflex XTR is working on iMax computers running XP in BootCamp. Parrales will not work.
• The interface was tested with the usual transmitters on the market. Some models may require some extra equipment like a student socket. In case you are not sure please ask out support at support@reflex-sim.de
Some more information on Video cards:-
The old PCI standard cards won't work, but the brand new PCI-EXPRESS cards work perfectly fine. It doesn't matter if the PCI express is motherboard integrated in a notebook or a slotted desktop system.
Some older AGB motherboards (< 2003) support 2x, 4x or 8x but the BIOS is not updated so allow anything else but 1x. In case you have a 2x or better card AND you motherboard supports 2x or better AND Reflex is not performing (>25 FPS), please check if a BIOS update is available for your motherboard.
Notebooks sometimes use SIS or Intel Extreme chips. In general, these chips are not suitable for the Reflex. They work fine for normal operation but the hardware acceleration is very limited - in most cases the acceleration is a software emulation only. That is fine for 7-10 fps but far away from fluent simulation.
Shared memory in desktops or notebooks is a real Reflex killer. Shared memory is nice to cut the price but at the end, a lot of system power is needed for the sharing process. Also, in most cases regular RAM for main memory is too slow for complex video operation.
Most support issues relate to out of date video card drivers. To check the driver date, please click START then RUN - type DXDIAG and press ENTER. Click to DISPLAY in the appearing window and check the driver date on the right side. Anything older than September 2004 won't show good results.
A modern "multimedia" computer is more than enough for a good Reflex operation. If in doubt, please download the DEMO and see what it does to your computer.

Ok, if there was only one piece of advice we could give it would be to invest in a Flight Simulator. This is especially relevant to those of you that are new to flying.
One thing is guaranteed and that’s despite all your efforts at some point you will crash your Heli. Hate to have to state this but it’s a fact and you might as well prepare yourself for it. The amount of times you do hit the deck and the amount of damage you do will basically come down to how much practice your prepared to invest.
To our knowledge the only effective way to truly practice without actually taking a real RC heli out and flying it, is to use a flight simulator.
You install the Flight Sim on your PC or laptop and by using your Radio controller you can realistically replicate flying and controlling the real thing. Even weather conditions are replicated such as wind and thermal activity.
The majority of hobbies now days require a decent amount of cash to get started up and RC Helis are no different. So with that in mind we appreciate that another £129.99 on a flight sim sounds like a saving to be had and maybe an “I don’t need one right now I will buy one later” type deal. I can safely say that the money you invest in a decent flight simulator will be returned to you thrice fold in money saved on parts moving forward. If you are looking to try and save a few quid then have a look at Reflex XTR 5.02 at £99.99. Up until recently it was the flagship product from Reflex and is outstanding. Phoenix Flight Sim is even cheaper at £79.95 and well worth a look
You can crash the models on a flight simulator a thousand times and it will never cost you a penny (the idea of course is not to crash them and treat them as if they are real).
One of the great things about this particular simulator is the built in flying lessons. You have a graphical and guide as well as a spoken instructor led training system that will take you from the very beginning and beyond in to some serious trick 3D mayhem.
Not only is it the cheapest way to learn to fly but it’s also probably the most convenient. You can pick up the Sim at any time and don’t need to hang about for a slot at a club or good weather etc…
Please remember that you need to use your radio transmitter for use with this simulator. We will include a Futaba Round adapter, a Futaba Square adapter or a JR adapter free of charge so please remember to choose which one you need from the main description page.
We would seriously encourage anybody wanting to take this hobby up to start here and buy yourself a Simulator. You could of course look to purchase one of our indoor type Helicopters as an alternative but all said and done we still think your better with the Sim!!
